Covid Safe Plan and Updates

October 12, 2021

As we near the end of yet another lockdown period, the rules and regulations for photography have once again changed. Please read below to see the requirements for the professional photography industry in accordance with the Victorian Covid19 Roadmap Out of Lockdown and as recommended by the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers).

70% Of 16+ Population Fully Vaccinated (Indicative Date October 26th 2021)

  • outdoor sessions may resume.
  • sessions must be held within 25km of the participants' home address.
  • limit of 50 participants.
  • all participants over the age of 16 must be double vaccinated.

80% Of 16+ Population Fully Vaccinated (Indicative date November 5th 2021)

  • outdoor sessions may resume.
  • no restrictions on distance being travelled.
  • limit of 500 participants for outdoor sessions and 10 participants (including dependents) for studio sessions.
  • all participants over the age of 16 must be double vaccinated.

Vaccination Requirement
For the peace of mind of all clients I can advise I am fully vaccinated and can provide proof of this upon request. Upon reopening all participants over the age of 16 must also be double vaccinated (or have an official medical exemption). As I write this, the mechanism for checking and documenting this requirement has yet to be finalised but the suggestions is it may be integrated into the existing QR check-in system.

What If We Aren't All Double Vaccinated?
If your family aren't currently fully vaccinated but intend to be, I will work with you to schedule your sessions at the first mutually convenient time after the last person in your family meets the vaccination requirement. If you have appointments dates set, we can work around these together.

If your family are not planning to be vaccinated, and wish to wait to see if the vaccination requirement is at some stage revised, we can work together to reschedule to a future date in 2022 and continue to monitor the regulations. If this happens sooner than your rescheduled session I will endeavour to bring your session forward if that is your wish.
If we get closer to your rescheduled session and find the requirements have not yet been amended, I will contact you to arrange a new date for you.

What If We Are fully Vaccinated But Are Currently Hesitant To Proceed?
I totally get it, the current state of the world is a somewhat scary one, so this hesitancy is fully expected and one I can relate to. I appreciate that for many reopening and adjusting to "covid-normal" will be a time of great anxiety and I understand that some families may, for a range of reasons or beliefs, may choose to remain in isolation and/or to limit their interactions.

If this is the case for you I can offer you the same choices as those who don't meet the current double vaccination requirement. That is, I will be happy to work with you to reschedule your session to a suitable 2022 date to ensure these memories we eventually create together are happy and memorable ones.

It is important to me that you don’t feel any pressure at all to hold your session right away, I am here to help in any way I can to ensure this is a really positive and enjoyable experience for you all, so if holding off until the new year is what’s best for you, then that is what we will do.

What now?
All families with current bookings have been contacted and new dates have been scheduled. If I have not yet been able to touch base with you, I will continue to reach out to ensure no one misses out on their session.

For extended family sessions, please check-in with your family members to ascertain their vaccination status. If they are not yet fully vaccinated, please ask for details on whether they have an appointment set. With this information, we can work together to set a session date that allows for everyone in attendance to be fully vaccinated.

Consider whether you wish to be rescheduled prior to Christmas or in the New Year.

Consider the time of day that works for your family. For afternoon shoots, depending on the location chosen, sessions are held 1-2 hours before sunset. Close to the summer equinox (December 21st) this means sessions being held at around 7-8pm. If this will not work for you please think about whether you wish to rebook for a morning session or if you want to rebook for a session in late Summer or Autumn when the sun sets earlier.

Finally...
Please continue to look after yourselves and your families during this uncertain time. For specific Newborn Photography related questions, you. ay find the answers you are looking for on our updated Covid FAQs page. If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss them.

I cannot thank you enough for your ongoing support and I look forward to working with you all again soon.

Baby Declan

Drawing from my artistic background, inspired by the beautiful Aboriginal Dot Paintings, I wanted to create something the represented Baby Declan's Aboriginal Heritage. This piece has been created using over 700 images of baby Declan, all captured during his newborn session which was held at GEGAC in Bairnsdale, East Gippsland when he was just 8 days old.

This piece evolved quite a lot during the editing process, differing vastly from the original concept. I am incredibly proud of this final piece and grateful to Declan and his family for allowing me the privilege of creating something that I am so excited about.

Baby Max

Max and his family, visited my studio in Montmorency when he was 23 days old. This pose is something I offer in all of my newborn sessions, something simple, yet beautiful to show off a new baby's profile.

However during Max's newborn session, I saw something new. The shape of his body, wrapped up nice and snug like a cocoon, instantly reminded of butterfly wings. I knew I wanted to create something beautiful, yet delicate, something unique that has never been seen before.

This piece received a lot of positive feedback during the judging, with many fellow photographers seeking me out to tell me how much they enjoyed the image.

Baby Ezra

A simple portrait of a sweet little man and his curious Big Sister.

Little Ezra and his gorgeous family were welcomed back into my Montmorency Studio with open arms when he was a teeny tiny 11 days new. Having photographed his Big Sister Maggie when she was a newborn baby, I was excited to be reunited with them all. Maggie was an enthusiastic participant during Ezra's newborn session and this image was created to demonstrate her curiosity and eagerness to be involved.

When babies come home to their new siblings, Mums and Dads are often showered with love from overly 'helpful' toddlers and they are always right there, no matter what is happening. This image is inspired by the little shadows we have at our feet.

Baby Alannah

Welcome to the world baby Alannah. She was an adorable 16 days old when her parents brought her into the Tiny and Brave studio for her newborn photoshoot. Full of personality, and lots of wriggles.

Images similar to this set are what I often begin a newborn session with. Frowns and stretches, yawns and sneezes. These are the little moments I look for that will allow new parents to remember the early morning wake ups and late night feeds, the little details that they may not have the energy to take note of at the time, but are so worth remembering as their baby grows.

Top Honours across 4 Categories

Along with her 4 Newborn Category entries, Tiffany entered a further 8 images across 3 additional categories for her 2019 competition, taking home a total 5 Silver Awards and 1 Silver Distinction Award with a further 6 Professional Practice scores, resulting in 2019 being her most successful year in her Professional Photography career to date.
